The name “Christadelphian” means “brother in Christ”. We are a small religious body who have deliberately attempted to get back to the faith and character of the early Christian church. We have been in existence for approximately 150 years and believe in the authority of the word of God revealed to us in the Bible. We teach that all scriptures are inspired by God and reveal to mankind His purpose with the Earth and man upon it. The Bible teaches us the only way of salvation and through that message we can have hope and faith in the coming Kingdom of God.
Patterned after 1st century Christianity we have no paid ministry. We are committed to personal consideration of the Bible together, growing spiritually, and supporting one another in our journey of faith. Our goal is to live out the values of faith, hope, and love, as we strive to reflect Christ’s example in our daily lives. Members of each congregation are addressed as “Brother” or “Sister” and all have an equal, joint responsibility for the welfare of the church. A strong common belief binds our brotherhood together. (Matthew 23:8-12, Romans 12:4-6, Romans 16:1, 1 Corinthians 12:4-27, Galatians 3:28).
We believe that the Bible is the word of God and is God’s only inspired message to mankind, given to bring responsive individuals to the obedience of faith. The Bible is our only authority and we teach that it should be read prayerfully and with care at every opportunity. (Romans 16:26, John 17:17, Acts 17:11).
We are located throughout the World. Like the early Christians, we meet in homes, rented rooms and in some cases our own halls. (Acts 1:13, 2:46,18:7, 19:9, 28:30). In New Brunswick we meet in our own hall on Roachville Rd. We can be contacted for further information by completing the CONTACT US form.
In local communities we meet on the first day of the week to join in fellowship to remember the Lord Jesus Christ, his life, his sacrifice and his resurrection. As baptized believers we share the emblems of bread and wine in memory of him following his instructions to his disciples and as practiced by the 1st century Christians. (Mattew 26:26-29, 14-20, Mark 14:22-24, Luke 22:14-20, Acts 20:7) Additionally we conduct Gospel outreach activities in person and also hold regular Bible discussion groups at our meeting hall.
We hold the belief that God is the creator of the universe. We believe that the Holy spirit is the power that God used through His angels to create the planet we live on and everything in it as recorded in the first book of the Bible. We believe that Jesus is His son and following his death and resurrection he ascended to be with His Father in Heaven from where he prepares events on Earth for his second coming. By his willing sacrifice at the hands of cruel men he fulfilled the Old Mosaic covenant and opened the way of salvation to all mankind, the new covenant.
